MommyRead ("MommyRead," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Persona AI LLC. This policy explains what information MommyRead collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. MommyRead is designed to be used by a parent or guardian together with their child.

What we collect

• Book page photos. Photos you capture are processed on your device to extract text (using on-device text recognition). We do not store or upload your photos to our servers.
• Extracted text. The text recognized from a page is sent to our server solely to generate narration audio through a third-party text-to-speech service, and is not retained on our servers beyond what's needed to generate that audio.
• Voice recording. When you record your voice in the app, that sample is used to create a personalized voice model through a third-party voice synthesis provider, so stories can be narrated in your voice. You can request deletion of your voice model at any time (see Contact, below).
• Stories and books you create. Your saved books, pages, and narrated stories are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your personal library.

How we use information

Information you provide is used only to operate MommyRead's core feature: turning a book page into narration in your voice. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your photos, extracted text, or voice recordings to serve ads.

Personal use only

Stories generated in MommyRead are for personal, private use by you and your family. MommyRead does not support publishing, sharing, or exporting narrated stories to other users or the public.

Third-party services

MommyRead uses third-party providers to perform text-to-speech narration and voice cloning. These providers process the text and voice data necessary to generate your narration and do not receive your photos directly. We choose providers that allow opting out of using submitted data for their own model training, and we apply that setting on your behalf.

Children's privacy

MommyRead is intended to be set up and operated by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and the app does not include advertising, in-app purchases targeted at children, public profiles, or social features.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete any book, story, or voice at any time within the app, which removes it from your device. To request deletion of a voice model held by our narration provider, contact us using the information below.

Security

Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Camera and microphone access is only requested at the moment you choose to capture a page or record your voice.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
